If you are new to getting exposure for your business, you’ve come to the right place. I’m going to give you a few short tips that will help. If you are joining me from my eBook, we talked about blogging being very important for your business. If you are just joining me with this post, then know that having a blog will help you to establish yourself online.
With that said, before you start blogging you will want to follow, the first 2 tips to ensure your success.
#1 Know Your Audience
So, the first tip I want to give you is to know your audience. You need to know who you are speaking to. When a person hits your blog, they need to feel like you are talking to them otherwise they will click off.
A friend of mine once said if you market to everyone, you market to no one. Guess what, she’s right. If you try to market to say people who are interested in buying inexpensive vacations, but all of your content is about high end or luxury vacations then guess what, you lose that person. So, know who your are trying to market to. If you are not clear on this, stop reading now… do some brainstorming and come up with your target audience.
Ok, on to the next tip.
#2 Create Great Content
Hopefully, you took some time if you weren’t already clear to define your audience. Now, thinking about your audience you want to create some really good content for them. You need to create something that adds value. How do you do this? Think about some of the problems that your ideal audience has. Once you have flushed out some of the problems, come up with solutions and blog about it.
For instance, if you are in the skincare business and one of the problems that your audience deals with is acne, provide some content on that. I’m going to caution you here… don’t talk about your products. You need to provide value first. You need to establish a relationship with your audience so that they trust and value your opinion and see you as a trusted authority. If you throw your products at them, they will surely click off your blog.
#3 Give Away Some Of Your Content For Free
Another great tip (outside of blogging) to attract your ideal audience is to give away some content for free. Create an Ebook, emails series, cheatsheet or check list for example that your audience will find valuable. You can also make a short blog post letting your audience know about your giveaway for additional exposure.
For your free giveaways, use a opt in page. An opt in page will allow you to build a list. If you create your giveaway right, it will be a list of targeted leads. Once you have this list, then you can slowly begin to market to them but only after you have established trust.
So, that’s it for now. There are many more ways to attract your ideal audience but these should help you in your journey.
