Affiliate Marketing or Network Marketing… Which One Do I choose? Part 2
Hey Now 🙂
Got a joke of the day for you before we get started with our post…
Reaching the end of a job interview, the Human Resources Officer asks a young engineer fresh out of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, “And what starting salary are you looking for?” The engineer replies, “In the region of $125,000 a year, depending on the benefits package.”
The interviewer inquires, “Well, what would you say to a package of five weeks vacation, 14 paid holidays, full medical and dental, company matching retirement fund to 50% of salary, and a company car leased every two years, say, a red Corvette?”
The engineer sits up straight and says, “Wow! Are you kidding?”
The interviewer replies, “Yeah, but you started it.”
Funny, right? I know… yes and no.
This is why you need to equip yourself to call your own shots. I applaud you for taking the necessary steps to educate yourself so that you can take action.
Ok, one more. I promise and then we will get down to business 🙂
Too funny, right?
Ok, let’s get started!
In our last post you learned a little bit about affiliate marketing. More specifically, you learned exactly what affiliate marketing is.
So next…
How exactly does one become an affiliate. It’s quite simple really. You find a program that you like and then you sign up for it. Sign up for most programs are free.
As you are looking for affiliate programs, be sure to find something that interest you and don’t just pick any program without doing some research. Just because you can sign up as an affiliate does not mean that the product will sell. You can find affiliate programs by typing in the Google search engine… the brand name + affiliate program (i.e. type in Walmart + affiliate program in the search engine).
You can also find affiliate programs listed in the following networks:
- Clickbank
- Amazon
- Commission Junction
- Linkshare
Once you find an affiliate program, set up a web page or pay someone one to do it for you. If you are planning on setting up something yourself, it doesn’t have to cost you much to do it. In fact, you can set up a free WordPress blog as your site. If you are not sure how to do this, there are tons of tutorials on YouTube that will help.
Ok, assuming that you have this set up… what’s next?
Next, you will want to provide content about your product. The more content your generate providing it’s valuable, the more likely you are to be found in the search engines which will ultimately lead to sales. This is why you need to pick something that interests you as you will be providing a lot of content about it.
Your content should talk about the benefits of the products as well as the solutions it provides. You can also provide how to’s and tutorials that would be valuable to your potential customer.
So, that’s enough to get your started. Now go take action. Set up your free blog and start researching products.
Until next time,
